I make a batch of Donna Hay’s hot cross buns every Easter and when eaten fresh from the oven they are heaven on Earth. Like many baked goods they are best the day they are made. You can pop them under the griller after a day or two [if they last that long!].

Yum yum Hungry Mum – makes me feel bad for never having made Hot Cross Buns….
They really are very simple. You will never go back to store bought again 🙂
They look ysoummy :). I love your creative photos, makes the food look so pretty .
Oh, that’s so sweet of you 🙂
A couple of these fresh from the oven and a cup of fresh coffee would be a great start to any day. Nice, too, that you can leave the dough to rise overnight. All the better to ensure those buns will be warm next to that cup of coffee. 🙂
Yes! A coffee and a bun is a brilliant thing to wake up to. Lord knows I need my coffee in the AM…
Hot cross buns on Easter! One of my favorites. Yours look delicious.
Thanks Shannon! They are such a yummy treat when eaten warm from the oven.
Easter buns are my favourite part of Easter. I can have chocolate all year round but when these appear I’m very happy! 😀
Yes! I agree! I refuse to buy them months out from Easter, I just enjoy them in the week or two leading up to Easter.
Oh anything from Donna Hay is a winner with me! I just love her and her recipes. These sound fab!
Same same! I want to BE Donna when I grow up #fanGirl
